Oct. 14, 2013—Flexographic Technical Association (FTA), the world’s leading professional society dedicated to advancing the flexographic printing process announces the launch of the newest addition to its FLEXOGRAPHY 101 booklet series, titled “Plate Mounting.” Comprising 33-pages, “Plate Mounting” is the fourth in what will ultimately be a 12-booklet series. Previous installments, released earlier this year, include: “An Introduction to Flexography,” “Anilox Handling & Care” and “Ink Handling & Maintenance.”

Platemounting technicians, pressroom personnel and those new to the flexographic industry will find this booklet a valuable companion guide to performing accurate plate mounting. Topics covered include:

  • Platemounting Systems
  • Mounting Tapes and their Attributes
  • Performance Improvements On-Press
  • Platemounting Procedures and Guidelines

“Proper plate mounting plays a critical role in the accurate reproduction of a printed image. It’s imperative that anyone who deals directly with this procedure be knowledgeable about how mounting directly affects things like registration, press productivity and print quality,” said Bjorn Knutson, FTA’s manager of certification & technical services.
