Family & Fun

Service is the common denominator in Lancelle’s professional and personal life. Married to Nancy, his high school sweetheart, for 33 years, the couple has grown children—one daughter, Katie, and three sons, Garrett, Joe and Max. The Lancelles were recognized as a Green Bay Family of Distinction in 2009, in honor of their volunteer and community efforts.

Every family member is an ardent supporter of the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin, Parents of Children with Cognitive Disabilities, the Green Bay Cerebral Palsy Center and Special Olympics.

Paul has been a Special Olympics coach, member of the Knights of Columbus, past president of the Lions Club and four term Denmark, WI village trustee. He is active in All Saints Parish in Denmark, WI, where he is both an usher and lector.

Nancy explains: “It is really hard for me to put into words what kind of a family man and person Paul is. We have had a lot of crazy things happen the last 33 years. Looking back, all I see are good memories and lots of laughter. Paul is the type of person who would do anything for anyone—except maybe during a Packers game. His favorite times are when he can be outside. Most weekends during the summer, he is found by our fire pit with friends and a few Budweisers and sometimes ‘Booyah’ also.

“Because he felt our friends and family needed some fun last summer, he turned our yard into a nine hole golf course for a party,” she reminisces. “We are already taking reservations for this year’s golf outing!

“He has always been a very patient father, which turned out well because we have four amazing adult children. Being blessed with two grandchildren has made his heart even larger.”

Son Garrett observes, “A heart as big as Lambeau Field, my father lives every day with a zest for life that is hard not to envy. His dedication to the flexographic industry over the last 30 years has always been inspiring. Equal to that is the love he pours into being a husband, father and grandfather.

“Add to that the hundreds of hours he has spent giving back to his community through cooking ‘booyah’ and running the annual ‘Booyah Cookoff’ that raised thousands of dollars for those with special needs. Family, friends, and fun—that is Paul Lancelle.”

Borrowing a phrase from one organization that he supports, one dedicated to creating opportunities for people with disabilities—ASPIRO, Latin for “to reach or climb for something”—Paul Lancelle’s vision is focused on one thing: “Putting success within reach.”
