MacDermid Printing Solutions Promotes Gotsick, Vest

ATLANTA, GA—MacDermid Printing Solutions recently announced that Timothy Gotsick and Ryan Vest received promotions.

Timothy Gotsick, Ph.D. was promoted to vice president and general manager of MacDermid Printing Solutions. Gotsick joined MacDermid in 2003 as director of global innovation. He led the development of the LUX plate making process, MacDermid’s award winning plate making solution. In 2011 Gotsick was promoted to vice president of technology. 

In this role, Gotsick is responsible for P&L for the business worldwide, including oversight of sales, marketing, manufacturing, innovation and day to day operations.

“Timothy has proven himself as a tremendously valuable manager in R&D and in leading the development of our successful LUX product line,” said Scot Benson, group president at MacDermid. “His drive to succeed and passion for the business make him a natural choice to lead MacDermid Printing Solutions.”

Gotsick earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Reed College in 1987 and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee in 1996. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and two children.

Ryan Vest was promoted to global director of innovation for packaging, flexo. Vest joined MacDermid in 1998 as a research scientist and has been progressively promoted to roles of increasing responsibility. 

In his 16 years at MacDermid, Vest has patented more than one dozen innovations and has been key in the development of industry changing technologies, such as LAVA thermal plate processing and LUX plate processing. He is widely known in the industry for his expertise in liquid platemaking and formulation.

“Ryan’s experience with all our product lines and core technologies makes him well suited to continue the successful product line improvements that we have seen in the last several years,” said Gotsick. “Ryan’s creativity and project management skills are a unique combination that will allow MPS to continuously create innovative new products for the flexographic printing industry.”

Vest earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Berry College in 1995 and his Master of Science in Chemistry from North Carolina State University in 1998. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and three sons.
