ETI Converting Equipment Awarded U.S. Patent

ETI PellicutBOUCHERVILLE, CanadaETI Converting Equipment, a Canadian company based in Quebec (Canada) just received a patent for its “Apparatus and Method for cutting facestock,” U.S. Patent Number 9,289,912 B2.

ETI received the patent immediately prior to drupa; this reinforced its promotion of a unique concept which consists of die cutting extremely thin release liners (12-µ. to 18-µ.).

Since its launch, the Pellicut, this high speed rotary diecut unit, has been enthusiastically welcomed by the self adhesive label printers, who understand the advantages generated by this technology:

  • Avoid the diecutting mark problems on paper and film liners completely
  • Reduce costs material
  • Half the amount of liner waste
  • Lower shipping costs
  • Less rewinding time since there are more labels per roll

This proven technology guarantees the die will not mark the liner during the diecutting process and there will be no breaks on labeling machines.

This equipment can die cut PS material at a speed of 500 fpm and uses a standard flexible magnetic die. The W anti deflection system avoids pressure cutting variations and reduces risks of diecutting marks on the liner. An equalizer system corrects the thickness inconsistency of the magnetic plate presently sold on the market. Moreover, the cutting pressure is not sensitive to heat variations in the long run and during a continuous usage.

ETI Converting Equipment intends to use this patent to promote and install equipments around the world. Our equipment will be presented at drupa, in Düsseldorf, from May 31 to June 10 at Booth 3C14, Hall 3.
