BCM Inks, Close the Loop, Win Packaging Innovation Award

CINCINNATI, OH—BCM Inks, along with its collaborative partner, Close the Loop, Hebron, KY have been named Gold award winners at the 25th DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation. The announcement was made by DuPont President Bill Harvey during the awards banquet Thursday evening, May 16th at the Hotel DuPont Wilmington, DE.

The DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation is the industry’s longest running, global, independently judged celebration of innovation and collaboration throughout the value chain. Some past winners include companies such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Kraft, Heinz, and Bemis.

The entry, PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) Black water-based flexographic ink for corrugated printing using recovered ink from ink jet cartridges was reviewed, judged, and selected by a 10-member panel of independent packaging industry experts. PCR Black saves over 200,000 ink jet cartridges from the landfill for every 450 lb drum of ink made.

David Callif, president/owner, BCM Inks, Rob Callif, vicepPresident, BCM Inks, and Steve Morriss, founder, Close the Loop, accepted the award at this year’s prestigious event.

“To be named a Gold Dupont Packaging Innovation Awards winner is quite a surprise and honor” said David Callif. “I’m accepting this award on behalf of our entire company. All our employees and our collaborative partner, Close the Loop, played a key role in PCR’s success. I’m ecstatic that during BCM’s Silver Anniversary we were able to garner this recognition.”
