Uteco Celebrates New Plant, Strong Outlook for 2015

COLOGNOLA AI COLLI, Italy—On Oct. 30, the Uteco Group, in the presence of its Board of Directors and its workforce, held the inauguration of its new third plant in Italy, UT3, which sits adjacent to its headquarters in Colognola Ai Colli, Verona, and its new R&D Centre ConverDrome*, UT2.

The investment of almost €10 million, with 7,000 sq. m. and 1,500 sq. m. of warehouse space, respectively, follows the recent expansion of the U.S. plant, Uteco North America and precedes future investment in the main plant, UT1 which will create new work centers in order to increase toth capacity and production quality of high precision mechanical manufacturing.

The ceremony, which was primarily dedicated to the Italian partners such as Barilla, Bauli and Fedrigoni (and other institutions from the sector and territory), allowed the guests to view the 15 machines already being assembled in the new plant. The machine ranges being produced here include:

  • Flexo Diamond
  • Onyx
  • Crystal
  • Topaz

The inauguration represents on the beginning of a series of important events which, from the end of 2014 to the first half of 2015, will include:

  • Additional open houses and demos in the Italian plants to present each new range of Uteco machines in working conditions to international customers
  • The launch of a new generation of high performance rotogravure press, Next 450
  • The introduction of application tests on all new innovative developments already mentioned at the new R&D and Technological Excellence Centre “ConverDrome*”
  • Open houses and demos for the American market in the UNAM plant and at our industrial partners in Italy, Holland and India for the standard laminators, roto offset and roto entry level ranges
  • The annual Partner Suppliers’ Day, with the bestowing of the 2014 Awards to Italian and international technological suppliers and partners who in 2014 have distinguished themselves in terms of Comakership and Zero Non Conformity
  • The 2015 Agents’ Meeting, with the groups backing to help extend and strengthen the structuring in further branch offices throughout the world, such as in the new offices of Uteco Deutschland, Uteco South East Asia and Uteco South East Africa and of the simultaneous strengthening of the structure of localized and central Service in various countries

All these events will end in May 2015 at the important IPACK-IMA and CONVERFLEX International Exhibition in Milan under the compass of EPO 2015, which will principally concentrate on the future of food.
