FRANKLIN PARK, IL—Prairie State Group, a printer specializing in flexible film and food grade packaging materials, has been recognized for implementing and maintaining comprehensive food quality safety programs and quality management systems. The FTA printer member scored 96 on a 100 point scale in successfully recertifying its operations with Eagle Food Registrations Inc. and the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Institute. Prairie State Group stands among early advocates of those committed to safe food packaging production procedures and briefed FTA members at Forum 2013 on its experience.
In reporting its recertification, Dan Doherty, executive vice president of operations and principal at Prairie State Group, credited Charlie Foca, quality assurance technician and SQF practitioner; and Al Pulsinelli, quality assurance manager, with leading a team effort involving all departments and all personnel in attaining renewal of Level 3 Certification and a certificate of registration as meeting requirements of SQF Code Edition 7.1.
