Comexi Group Sells NEXUS SL2 Solventless Laminator to Flexographic Packaging Co.

Comexi NEXUS SL2GIRONA, Spain—The Comexi Group, a leading company specializing in machinery solutions for the flexible packaging converting industry, will support Flexographic Packaging Co. in improving its business and to expand Flexographic Packaging’s capabilities by installing a Comexi NEXUS SL2 solventless laminator. The Waupun, WI based company will be installing this machinery in its newly expanded printing and laminating facility.

The purchase of the Comexi NEXUS SL2, one of the most successful models of Comexi NEXUS brand since 2013, is a response to Flexographic Packaging Company’s requirements of maintaining the highest standards of performance while being environmentally responsible.

Flexographic Packaging Co. is mainly active in the converting of flexible packaging materials such as polyethylene terephthalate, biaxially oriented polypropylene, nylon and their high value added structures. According to President David Puente and VP Erik Blankenberg, the owners of Flexographic Packaging Co., “the Comexi NEXUS SL2 will be a great addition to our laminating department. The Comexi solution will allow Flexographic Packaging Co. to increase its capacity, which will allow us to exceed customers’ expectations.”

The Comexi NEXUS SL2 is designed to work with solventless adhesives, utilizing state of the art technologies to provide maximum reliability and easy handling. This new model is the evolution of the top selling Comexi NEXUS Evo and is capable of laminating at a maximum speed of 1,475 fpm with an available width of 52-in. to 60-in.

The exclusive design of the metering sleeve, its ergonomic properties and great productivity mean that all job changes are completed with unbeatable speed and efficiency. The three nip roller solution, together with the robustness of the machine and the fully motorized coating rollers achieve perfect, consistent and transparent laminations without air bubbles. The result is superior optics at faster speeds.
