ETI Converting Celebrates Successful Open House

ETI Converting open house BouchervilleBoucherville, QUEBEC—On Aug. 13, visitors representing label printers and raw material suppliers met at ETI Converting headquarters in Boucherville, Quebec, to participate in an open house. The event was a real success for the Canadian company.

Among the highlights of this one day event was the launch of the Mini-Cohesio equipped with a JFlex Digital Print System and a Pellicut, a high speed rotary die cutting system for thin liners. ETI runs a job combining two printing processes, the flexo and the digital, on a 4-mil. high gloss paper. The hotmelt adhesive and the silicone were applied on an 18-µ. PET liner, then die cut with the Pellicut technology. All operations were done inline at a speed of 275 fpm with a high quality printing of 14-µ. dots at 1,600 x 1,375 dpi.

Presentations to explain this innovative concept and the advantages of the inline digital inkjet printer and label production platform were done by Maxime Bayzelon, president of ETI Converting and Judd Quimby, VP of business development at Memjet.

There was also a demo on a 22-ft. Cohesio equipped with an ETI Turret Rewinder for the production of small rolls of blank labels.

Visitors’ reactions were very positive.

ETI will showcase this Mini-Cohesio at Labelexpo Brussels at the end of September, booth 5C28.
