MPS

MPS will host an open house at its headquarters in Arnhem, The Netherlands, during drupa 2016. Visitors attending the event will be presented live demonstrations of the EF multi substrate flexo press, EB label solution press, and new hybrid EF SYMJET flexo/digital press with an integrated Domino digital N610i inkjet printer. Visitors will have an exclusive opportunity to see the largest press ever built by MPS: an impressive 91.86-ft. long, 14-color offset, flexo, gravure and screen combination press.

Dates of the open house are June 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 and free transportation from drupa to Arnhem is available for show visitors. The “MPS Express” bus will leave drupa at 10:30 a.m., and visitors will return back to the show around 3:15 p.m. Travel time from Düsseldorf to Arnhem is approximately one hour and 15 minutes.

Omet—Hall 3, Stand D90 1-2

Omet’s new Varyflex V2 offset 850 represents a true breakthrough in packaging. The design of the new Varyflex V2 Offset 850 sought to find a solution to the optimization of performance in job changeover by overcoming difficulties due to the large size and weight of sleeves and, consequently, the time required to perform such operations.

The HONYALU solution developed by Rossini is a novelty in the field. Realized with honeycomb material between base and aluminum tubing, it allows the sleeve to be lighter, thanks to its open cell structure, as well as absorb vibrations and reduces bounce during printing. The hybrid solution, with blanket sleeve in fiberglass and plate sleeves in HOLYALU, reduces line costs by exploiting the best properties of both materials during the printing process.

Also on stand will be the new iFlex. Officially launched in May 2015, iFlex is characterized by its simple operation and extremely quick startup times. A series of innovations make this machine unique: In particular, thanks to the iLight laser preregister system and the iVision printing register adjustment, optimal quality printing can be achieved in a few simple steps.

TRESU—Hall 10, Stand D54

TRESU will be exhibiting a printing unit to highlight the productivity and flexibility of its web fed TRESU Innovator flexo printing lines for folding carton applications. Customized to end user performance, the TRESU Innovator offers a flexo platform in 26.38-in., 35.43-in., 43.3-in. and 55.12-in. and 66.93-in. widths. In addition, it provides the possibility for seamless integration of processes, such as variable data, special coating applications, cold foil and finishing, providing an end to end solution for high value packaging.

TRESU extends its enclosed chamber doctor blade program by introducing the MaxiPrint Concept. A lightweight carbon fiber or ceramic chamber, MaxiPrint Concept comprises a chamber doctor blade, inking system and cleaning system. Suited for wide web and corrugated flexo applications, the concept offers corrosion resistance; fast, automatic internal cleaning; improved quality consistency and reduced ink loss. Available in widths of 63-in. to 236.22-in., the chamber features an integrated cleaning nozzle with a robustly designed water shot mechanism, to ensure efficient cleaning of the chamber and anilox roll in a short time.

UTECO—Hall 10, Stand A18, B3

ONYX XS is the compact version of the ONYX range featuring the latest UTECO flexo technology and designed to optimize very short runs in flexible packaging and label printing. ONYX XS is characterized by:

  • A flexible configuration from basic with single reel shaftless unwinder/rewinder to fully automatic ones
  • No ladders or stairs to access upper decks
  • Between color dryers easy to remove, rotate and clean
  • New triple energy saving ventilation system “CUBE” for drying

ONYX XS can be equipped with:

  • Kiss & Go, fully automatic impression setting at the startup
  • SmartMatch, reliable and quick color matching
  • ChromaLab, an inline spectrophotometer
  • 100 percent linear camera for detection of print defects

Vetaphone—Hall 10, Stand E20

One of the pioneers and leading global manufacturers of corona treatment, Vetaphone will be exhibiting a range of improved and enhanced surface treatment technologies. On stand will be the UL approved iCorona generator series, including the new iCorona2 and iCorona3. Other equipment on display will include samples of the latest corona treater stations VE1C-C, and the VE1E-B, which is fitted with a ceramic roller covering and the new segmented electrodes for improved cleaning and maintenance, as well better airflow that prevents dirt from adhering.

Windmoeller & Hoelscher—Hall 15, Stand A41

Windmoeller & Hoelscher will present its comprehensive product portfolio at drupa. A new generation of flexo and gravure printing presses will be premiered at the event. “As is customary for W&H, we will unveil our newest technologies, where visitors from all over the world can have a close up view,” said Dr. Jürgen Vutz, CEO of W&H. Live machine demonstrations will run several times daily.

W&H will focus on the concept of Packaging 4.0, the company’s vision of Industry 4.0 applied to the production of packaging. “We will show how intelligent machines, integrated processes and intuitive handling are already increasing efficiency during production and bringing customers substantial added value,” adds Vutz. In addition to the booth, W&H will simultaneously host an in house expo with further machine demonstrations in its new technology center in Lengerich.

Xeikon—Hall 8, Stand B20 1-3

“Our drupa theme is: Direct. Dedicated. Digital.” said Danny Mertens, Xeikon corporate communications manager. “Visitors will see that in action, with innovations across the board. This includes workflow efficiencies with our digital front end, the print engines themselves, our unique consumables and our next generation approach to finishing. Our stand at drupa will have something for everyone in the printing industry, and visitors are guaranteed to go away with new ideas about how they can expand their capabilities to drive profitability.”

  • For labels, the Xeikon CX3, which has seen more than 20 systems installed since its September 2015 launch, will be producing a broad array of applications with inline finishing. Its top speed of 98 fpm ensures it is the most productive five color digital label press in its class
  • The 5-color Xeikon 3500, the flagship of the Xeikon 3000 series, will show folding carton applications. By using CMYK + Orange toners as an example, packaging converters can extend their color gamut to be able to achieve more than 72 percent of Pantone colors. It has a variable width of 9.8-in. up to 20.3-in., runs at a top speed of greater than 1,600 B2 sheets per hour and even produces B2+ format. The production line will include a Web Varnishing Module inline for spot and flood coating with UV and aqueous varnishes, a waste separator and a stacker with a capacity of up to 17.72-in.
  • With Fusion Technology, Xeikon comes very close to a fully automated, unattended label and packaging production. It combines full color production printing with digital embellishment of labels and packaging in a single pass, fully digital production process. It is an entirely new modular system with the digital front end taking care of prepress, data processing, color management and press operation, as well as full control and operation of all modules without any manual intervention. Potential modules include hot/cold foiling, screen prints, matte, gloss, structured flood and spot varnish, and digital braille
