FTA Membernar: Matching Flexo to Offset Using a Worldwide Standard (CRPC6)

For the first time ever, the 2019 FLEXO Magazine Cover Project aimed to match the flexographically printed cover of the October 2019 issue to the offset-printed cover using the exact same color separations. By aiming both print processes to CRPC6 (Characterized Reference Printing Condition), we intended for both to match each other as well as match the substrate-corrected CRPC6 proof.

But matching CRPC6 proved to be a challenge for both processes. From optical brighteners with CRPC-recommended M1 measurement to real-world paper and press variation, achieving G7 numbers throughout the run was a task.
