SPGPrints—Hall 4, Stand C20

SPGPrints will provide a video preview of its PIKE 700 UV inkjet hybrid press that combines high resolution digital capabilities with extensive pre-treatment and added value finishing processes, in a single pass, at high speed. The 27-in. wide roll-to-roll press, based on Archer technology, features up to 10 inkjet positions in a central cylinder configuration, with CMYK plus white standard, using SPGPrints’ own inks that are optimized for the printhead and the machine’s treatment processes.

With maximum resolutions of 1,200 dpi, the PIKE 700 allows excellent vignettes that outperform conventional printing technology; it also enables consistent color uniformity within 1.5 Delta E, on both supported and unsupported paper and film materials up to 450-µm. thickness. Color results can be compared and targets reached with virtually no material waste. Wide substrate versatility is enhanced, thanks to extensive inline web cleaning, corona treatment and flexo priming options. Furthermore, the optional integration of rotary screen printing units, seamlessly inline, enables inclusion of high-impact “look and feel” effects.

Omet—Hall 6, Stand C49

Omet will confirm its passion for innovation, showing three presses with new relevant technologies and developments: a little taste of the complete product portfolio. Omet is able to provide printing machines for any necessity, from the simplest label to complex applications, from combined printing technologies to special solutions and tailor-made projects.

Xeikon—Hall 5, Stand C25

Xeikon will be displaying its newly launched Panther technology, a UV inkjet platform that complements Xeikon’s dry toner technology, and the first UV inkjet press based on it. The primary application focus for the Xeikon PX3000, which prints at a resolution of 600 dpi, is self-adhesive health and beauty and industrial labels, with dry toner being the preferred technology for applications where food safety is a requirement.

Bobst—Hall 3, Stand A58

Three of Bobst’s narrow, mid web, inline, UV flexo printing presses will be in demonstration: the M5X, the M1 and the M6 lines, all shown in their latest configuration and fitted with enhanced features. Watch them print and convert live label and flexible packaging production.

Visitors will also learn about the very wide and comprehensive range of web-fed solutions Bobst offers in the different segments of the label industry. These include the latest developments in central impression (CI) flexo, gravure printing and lamination, which are especially suited for customers looking for efficiency in short-run production. In addition, visitors can hear more about the Bobst range of silicone, adhesive and pre-/post-metallizing coating lines and vacuum metallizing solutions, including the new K5 EXPERT and AluBond process for high adhesion.

Edale—Hall 7, Stand D39

Edale plans live demonstrations of the FL3, one of the most automated label presses in the industry. Its Autonomous Inking, Impression and Registration (AiiR) feature allows the press to set the printing functions without operator adjustments. All the operator has to do is change the print cylinders and press the start button. Edale software, in conjunction with proven AVT camera technology, then takes control of the press, including a 100 percent inspection feature. The operator is free to prepare for the next job. For those interested in hybrid technology, a 6-color Graphium unit will be incorporated into the Edale FL3.

ABG International—Hall 6, Stand A37

ABG will be launching a new, flat screen printing unit, which has a significantly increased running speed. The new module has a full rotary web motion, still using a flatbed screen. Quality of UV curing is also improved by the rotary web motion—ensuring consistency along the whole web. The physical size of the module has also been reduced by more than 20 percent, the repeat area has increased to 16-in. in the web direction.

Operators will benefit from easier setup, and it has motorized lateral and skew adjustments for screen image position, plus on-the-run servo adjustment of the squeegee and scraper position. This makes it easy for the operator to adjust the level of ink through the mesh and onto the web.

ABG will also showcase a full range of innovative finishing solutions at Labelexpo Europe 2017, including the Digicon Series 3 beverage specification with new screen printing unit and 50-ton “Big Foot” foil and embossing module, Digicon Series 3 with FAST Track die inline with a nonstop turret rewinder with 100 percent camera inspection and workflow link, Digilase laser cutting machine with automatic job changeover, Digicon Lite 3 entry-level finishing equipment, Converter Series 3 running with SGTR Auto set glueless nonstop turret rewinder, and ECTR turret rewinder with a bowl feeder and automatic core loader.

Durst—Hall 8, Stand B26

Durst will be presenting the new digital, high-resolution, high-speed, 8-color label press Tau 330 RSC inline with Omet’s XFlex X6 hybrid solution, as well as its new Web2Print workflow.

The new Tau 330 RSC is a UV inkjet label and package printing press featuring 13-in. print width combined with leading edge print speed of up to 245 fpm at 1,200 by 1,200 dpi printing resolutions. The press achieves a production capacity of 16-ft.² per hour, and thanks to its eight color stations (CMYK+W+OVG) with new designed high pigmented inks, it delivers outstanding, flexo-like print quality with close to 98 percent Pantone color gamut coverage.

Also showcased will be the flagship Tau 330 with low-migration ink for primary food and pharma packaging, as well as the economic entry model Tau 330E with its specially developed high pigmented UV inkjet inks.
