Gary Hilliard was a devoted member of the flexographic industry and a long-time supporter of FTA, volunteering his time and energy to assist in its numerous endeavors. Compiling a list of his many instances of aiding FTA reads like a list of everything the Association provides:

Because the voting process for the Hall of Fame takes place months in advance, Gary was able to be told of his impending induction; his wife Ellen gave him the good news. “We spent hours discussing his work, his committees, his time on the FFTA board, the FQC, etc.,” she recalled in the FLEXO Magazine article announcing his entering the Hall. “I felt great joy and pride in Gary and his achievements upon learning of his selection, and I realized it was something we would have talked about for years to come.”
