Bob Coomes and Bobby Congdon Receive FTA President’s Award

BOHEMIA, NY—FTA has recognized Bob Coomes and Bobby Congdon, two dedicated and steadfast supporters of the Association, with the 2023 FTA President’s Award.

The individuals were named on Sunday, April 16 during the Awards Banquet at FORUM & INFOFLEX 2023, FTA’s annual four-day technical conference and exhibition.

Honoring faithful devoted to FTA’s myriad efforts, the recipients of this year’s award are:

  • Bob Coomes, graphic, prepress and print specialist at PPC Flexible Packaging. As chair-elect of the FFTA Board of Directors, a champion of the FIRST methodology, and a FORUM and Fall Technical Conference presenter many times over, Bob is exceptionally active and devoted
  • Bobby Congdon, assistant director at the Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics at Clemson University. Truly a “go-to guy,” he has generously lent his time and talent to initiatives that have supported FTA’s growth in members, quality recognition and educational development

“Bob and Bobby each has displayed a dedication to FTA and our membership that is a shining example of what the President’s Award represents,” said FTA President Robb Frimming. “They both are forever curious and driven to deploy every effort for the advancement of flexography.”

Commenting on his first time presenting the award, Frimming added, “Entering the FTA president role as an existing member gives me a great appreciation for this award. Our members are dedicated to advancing flexography in every aspect of the process, and they do not do it for the awards—They have a collaborative spirit that is contagious, and they truly make the difference.”
