Xerox To Integrate Xeikon Technology Into Digital Presses
Xerox will integrate Flint Group Digital Xeikon technology into its production print portfolio through a strategic partnership announced Sept. 1. The agreement targets digital packaging, label, and commercial printing applications. Xerox announced the partnership in its newsroom release.
Under the agreement, Xeikon digital color press technology will be combined with the Xerox Production Ecosystem, including workflow automation software, finishing solutions, remote services, distribution, and support.
The first press will carry the Xerox name and be sold and serviced by Xerox. It also will incorporate Xerox-developed software, integration, and service capabilities. The companies have not disclosed the press model, availability, or product specifications, but Xerox says it plans to release those details in the coming months.
“This partnership represents an important milestone in the evolution of the Xerox production print business,” Terry Antinora, president of Global Production Print Services at Xerox, says. “By combining Flint Group Digital Xeikon digital press technology with the Xerox Production Ecosystem, we are delivering a complete production platform that helps print providers increase productivity, unlock new applications, and drive profitable growth.”
Xerox says the addition will complement its Iridesse Production Press, Proficio PX500 and PX300 presses, IJP900 Inkjet Press, and PrimeLink printers and presses.
