Ultimate Paper Box Buys Koenig & Bauer CutPRO Q 106, Boosts Postpress Capabilities

Ultimate Paper Box recently invested in a new Koenig & Bauer CutPRO Q 106, a high-performance medium-format flatbed die-cutter designed for industrial folding carton production. Koenig & Bauer is a FTA member company.

Ultimate Paper Box is a Los Angeles-based printer and packaging manufacturer specializing in high-end folding cartons and custom printed packaging, serving Fortune 500 companies and leading brands across the cosmetics and beauty, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, electronics, retail, and consumer product industries. Ultimate Paper Box President Janak Patel supports the folding carton manufacturer’s strong growth by investing in capital equipment to power its high-quality output for its valued customers.

“Our goal has always been to invest in technology that allows us to grow with our customers and continue delivering the quality and service they expect from Ultimate Paper Box,” says Janak Patel, president of Ultimate. “As packaging becomes increasingly sophisticated, our customers are looking for greater precision, consistency, and faster turnaround times. The new CutPRO Q gives us the automation and flexibility to meet those demands while expanding our capabilities and increasing efficiency throughout our postpress operation.”

Being efficient and fast were top priorities for Patel when choosing a die-cutter. The CutPRO Q features a unique Magic Carpet system, a zero makeready carpet system that uses a single rack to support blanks and install the slip sheet simultaneously. This Koenig & Bauer feature inserts a slip sheet into the pile utilizing a new system developed by Koenig & Bauer’s renowned engineering team. For Ultimate Paper Box, this technology helps reduce makeready time and increase production efficiency, allowing jobs to move through the postpress operation faster while maintaining the precision and quality required for high-end packaging.

At his modern 100,000 sq ft production facility with over 130 team members, Patel chooses new equipment wisely with a focus on automation, efficiency, and ease of operation for his production team. An integrated user interface, only from Koenig & Bauer, between the Allpro 110 high-performance folder gluer, CutPRO Q die-cutter, and Rapida printing presses allows one operator to integrate all of the Koenig & Bauer machines for total machine compatibility.

Patel attributes the company’s record-breaking growth and continued success to its commitment to innovations, investment in advanced technology, and its long-standing partnership with Koenig & Bauer, which dates back to the company’s first installation in 2008. “Koenig & Bauer’s cutting-edge technology, reliability, and exceptional support have allowed our company to optimize our workflow and we have always appreciated our deep relationship with their entire team,” says Patel. “Our new CutPRO Q is increasing our automation and precision in our postpress department, allowing production processes to work more efficiently. Waste is reduced and the final quality of our folding cartons sets us significantly above our competition.”
