Each year, the FTA Sustainability Excellence Award competition honors companies for outstanding achievements in sustainability. In 2022, four companies were recognized in the categories of Sustainability Programs and Innovations in Sustainability.

Jorge Morales is a project manager for Industrias de Plasticos. He has 14 years of experience in project development of its packaging business.

Robert Dekker, Footprint LLC

Robert Dekker is VP of communications for Footprint, a material science company headquartered in Phoenix, AZ. He joined Footprint in September of 2022. Robert has 20+ years of experience in communications, brand development and brand stewardship. He has held communications, marketing and sales positions in the US and Europe and worked across 20+ industries and 100+ countries. Before Footprint, Robert held leading communications positions with large international corporations, including DuPont, Chemours, Greenfield Global, Corbian, Wolters Kluwer and Lutron Electronics.

Robert holds an international executive MBA from the University of Portsmouth (UK) and the University of Maryland, and an undergraduate degree in international business from the Haarlem Business School (The Netherlands).

Dr. Nikola Juhasz, Sun Chemical

Dr. Nikola Juhasz is the global technical director for sustainability at Sun Chemical: engaging with internal and external stakeholders to formulate sustainability-driven technical strategies, overseeing implementation of the corresponding innovation and product development programs across all of Sun’s pigments, inks, coatings and adhesives product lines and technology platforms, representing Sun Chemical at several global cross-industry organizations focused on sustainability and the future of packaging and driving collaborations towards circularity and end of life management.

Prior to joining Sun Chemical in 2016, Dr. Juhasz spent more than 20 years in various positions of R&D leadership in the diversified chemicals, polymers and materials industries. She holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
