Two Winners, One Honorable Mention in 2020 FTA Sustainability Excellence Awards

BOHEMIA, NY—FTA has announced the results of the 2020 FTA Sustainability Excellence Award Competition. Each of the competition’s two categories had a single winner, as well as one honorable mention.

The award-winning sustainability initiatives were announced during the FTA Awards Presentation on April 22, which kicked off the first of three days of Virtual FORUM 2020.

The companies recognized are:

  • Hub Labels, winning the Sustainability Programs category, for its landfill-free initiative, and completely eliminating landfill waste since October 2019
  • Labelcraft Products Ltd, winning the Innovations in Sustainability category, for its Recyclable Enviroliner made with 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper

Additionally, Emmerson Packaging received an honorable mention in the Innovations in Sustainability category, for its recyclable Nature’s Touch Dark Sweet Cherries pouch.

“FTA has been hosting the Sustainability Excellence Awards, and its precursor the Environmental Excellence Awards, for 20 years. When we first started the program, the word ‘sustainability’ was barely in our vocabulary. Now, it’s engrained in all operations!” said FTA Sustainability Consultant Doreen Monteleone. “This year’s winners are the best-of-the-best and demonstrate the highest level of sustainability programs. We encourage others to follow their lead.”
