BOHEMIA, NY — The Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) has announced the release of Flexographic Image Reproduction Specifications & Tolerances (FIRST) 7.0 in Spanish, expanding access to one of the industry’s leading technical resources for Spanish-speaking professionals across the flexographic printing industry. 

Now available for purchase, FIRST 7.0 en Español provides the same comprehensive technical guidance as the English-language edition, giving more printing professionals access to the specifications, terminology, and best practices that support consistent, high-quality flexographic production. 

Developed in partnership with FTA Mexico, the Spanish-language edition represents an important step in FTA’s ongoing efforts to make industry education and technical resources more accessible to professionals throughout the United States, Mexico, Latin America, Europe and South America . The two organizations are working to expand access to trusted technical information, support workforce development and create additional educational opportunities for Spanish-speaking professionals. 

“Making FIRST available in Spanish is about giving more people access to the technical knowledge they need to succeed,” said Kenny Tucker, FTA Director of Technical Education. “When employees can learn and reference industry specifications in their preferred language, it strengthens communication, supports training and helps teams work more consistently. This is an important step in our continued efforts to expand access to FTA’s educational resources.” 

With more than 400 pages of flexographic specifications, tolerances, procedures and reference materials, FIRST 7.0 serves as a comprehensive resource covering the entire flexographic workflow. For organizations with multilingual teams, the Spanish-language edition helps establish a shared technical vocabulary, strengthen employee onboarding and reinforce consistent production practices across departments. 

The Spanish-language edition is part of FTA’s broader commitment to increasing accessibility across its educational offerings, with additional training resources planned for the future. 

FIRST 7.0 en Español is available for $120 for FTA members and $180 for nonmembers. The printed publication is produced on demand, with an estimated fulfillment time of two to four weeks.
