Mark Andy Hosts Students Open Day to Showcase Real-World Printing Technologies
Mark Andy recently welcomed students to its European Technology Center in Warsaw for its latest Students Open Day, an initiative designed to connect classroom learning with hands-on industry experience.
Held on March 26, the event brought together approximately 120 students from four high schools across Kalisz, Warsaw, and Zielonka. The program introduced attendees to current trends in the printing industry while giving them direct exposure to modern label and packaging production technologies.
Bridging Education and Industry
The day began with an overview of the printing sector, including insights into market conditions and emerging developments. Topics such as hybrid printing technologies, RFID integration, and the concept of the Digital Product Passport highlighted how the industry continues to evolve.
Live Demonstrations Across Print Technologies
A central component of the event was a series of live demonstrations featuring multiple printing platforms. Students observed flexographic, hybrid, and toner-based technologies in operation, offering a side-by-side look at different production methods used in today’s label and packaging environments.
Hands-On Experience in a Production Setting
Beyond demonstrations, participants took part in workshop sessions that simulated real production tasks. Activities included mounting photopolymer plates, preparing jobs, adjusting registration, and operating both flexo and digital presses.
For many attendees, this marked their first experience inside a professional print environment. The event concluded with a more interactive element, as students printed their own images onto labels—providing a tangible takeaway from the day.
Supporting Early Exposure to Print Careers
Students Open Day is part of Mark Andy’s ongoing efforts to engage with the next generation of print professionals and increase awareness of career opportunities within the sector. By combining technical demonstrations with practical application, the initiative aims to provide a clearer understanding of how modern print production operates.
Mark Andy, a global manufacturer of narrow- and mid-web printing and finishing equipment, regularly hosts educational and demonstration events at its technology centers as part of its broader industry engagement efforts.
