Ginnie Gandy, Calvin Frost To Bring Practical Sustainability Perspectives To Label Printers
Sustainability conversations are increasingly moving beyond broad commitments and toward a more difficult question: What changes actually make a measurable difference?
This question will be front and center in September when two leaders from Channeled Resources Group, General Manager of Release Liners Ginnie Gandy and Founder and Chairman Calvin Frost share their perspectives on sustainability in the label and release liner supply chain.
Both CRG thought leaders will lead sustainability conversations at AWA Release Liner Seminar taking place September 14, 2026, in conjunction with LOUPE Americas in Rosemont, IL.
Gandy will present “The Realities of Liner Sustainability: How We Coach Our Customers to Drive Meaningful Change,” while Frost will moderate a broader industry discussion examining whether the label and liner market is progressing quickly enough toward its sustainability goals.
Together, their participation reflects an approach CRG has developed over decades: Turning good intentions into measurable progress. During her session, Gandy will discuss how CRG works with customers to identify solutions capable of delivering meaningful environmental benefits rather than changes driven primarily by marketing considerations.
The presentation will explore the decisions and trade-offs involved in improving sustainability across materials, manufacturing processes, and end-of-life management. Gandy will also address the importance of understanding each customer’s application, operational requirements and available waste-management infrastructure before recommending a path forward.
In a written announcement containing the session descriptions, Gandy comments, “There is rarely one solution that makes a product or process sustainable overnight. Our role is to ask the right questions, look honestly at the available options, and help customers focus on changes that can make a difference.”
Manufacturing sustainability and label printing icon Frost will moderate the seminar’s panel discussion, “Sustainability in Labels & Liners: Are We Moving Fast Enough?”
The discussion will take a direct look at the current state of sustainability and circularity within the label and release liner industry, including whether industry progress is keeping pace with its public commitments. Panelists will examine barriers such as the adoption of alternative materials, participation in recycling programs, the economics of sustainable solutions and the continued impact of release liner waste sent to landfills.
