FIRST Live at Clemson
BOHEMIA, NY–After two successful FIRST Live: Level 1 sessions at FTA’s FORUM INFOFLEX and the FTA Technical Conference, the association is taking its hands-on training series to the next level.
FTA will host FIRST Live: Press Operator Certification at the Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design & Graphics at Clemson University, Nov. 11–13, 2025. Unlike previous events, the Clemson session will cover all three levels of the Press Operator Certification program, giving attendees the opportunity to become fully FIRST certified by the end of the three-day, in-person training.
“Flexographers have told us they want more than just entry-level training, they want a complete pathway to certification that equips them for long-term success on press,” said Kenny Tucker, FTA’s director of technical education. “That’s what makes this Clemson event so important. It’s the next step in FTA’s Live training, and it directly addresses the industry’s demand for skilled operators who can deliver consistent, high-quality results.”
The three-day program combines proven Flexographic Image Reproduction Specifications and Tolerances (FIRST) methodology with hands-on press activities in Clemson’s pressroom, reinforcing concepts in real-world scenarios. Operators will practice process control, color management and troubleshooting, while working toward certification.
The event is especially designed for those in production roles. Limited spots are available. Cost is $2,500 for FTA members / $3,250 for non-members
