ISLANDIA, NY—Decisions were rendered as flexography’s best works of 2024 passed under the eyes of 24 judges charged with scrutinizing both degree of difficulty and level of execution for each job. Registration, complexity, spot builds trapping, fades-to-zero, fine text, match to proof and more contributed to the quality of work reviewed over three days—February 1-3.
To say judges were impressed minimizes the moment. Just focusing in on remarks made was inspiring. Some examples: “Incredible!” “Exquisite!” “Beautiful.” “Smooth.” “Exceptional!” “Impeccable!” “Striking!” “Home Run!” “WOW!!!”
FTA’s 2025 Excellence in Flexography Awards competition is now complete. Entries topped 250 with 52 (21 percent of entries) capturing gold, silver, bronze and even Best of Show Awards. Leading the pack, narrow web with 18 honors. Following in succession—wide web at 10, envelope, 8; preprinted linerboard, 6; combined corrugated, 5; mid web, 3; and special achievement (students), 2.
Final results are in. Reveal is set for Sunday, May 4 when FTA meets for FORUM INFOFLEX 2025 in Pittsburgh, PA. Remember, the full gallery of Excellence in Flexography Award Winners will be showcased on the INFOFLEX floor and in the pages of FLEXO’s May/June edition.
