CPCneutek Installs Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 to Expand Production Capabilities
CPCneutek has installed a Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 LED-UV eight-color perfecting press at its Grand Junction, Colorado, facility, a move aimed at increasing production capacity, flexibility and print quality across commercial and packaging applications.
The new 41-inch sheetfed press replaces two existing eight-color perfecting presses. According to the company, the Rapida 106 is delivering significantly higher throughput, with performance levels exceeding the combined output of the previous presses.
Designed to support a diverse mix of substrates and applications, the press enables CPCneutek to transition between commercial print jobs and heavier board materials more efficiently. The system is capable of operating at speeds up to 18,000 sheets per hour and supports single-pass production, including foil application and multi-color printing using LED-UV curing.
The installation also introduces expanded inline capabilities, including embellishment production that was previously handled in separate processes. Additional features include automated job setup, inline inspection and performance monitoring tools intended to improve efficiency and consistency.
CPCneutek reports that the investment has supported entry into new market segments, including synthetic and plastic substrates, while helping meet customer demand for shorter turnaround times and higher-quality output.
The company also cited improvements in color management and repeatability, particularly for folding carton applications and work requiring consistent PMS color matching.
The installation reflects ongoing investment in advanced sheetfed press technology as printers look to consolidate production, increase automation and expand capabilities across multiple market segments.
