Connecting the Dots

Virtual Event | 2:00 pm EST | Non-Member: $99 | Member: Free

In printing, the best learning often happens in “light bulb” moments—when a tricky concept suddenly clicks. This discussion-based webinar explores how we can teach the core building blocks of flexography in a way that engages students (and new learners) and makes those breakthrough moments more likely. We’ll share practical teaching techniques, talk through the must-know concepts for understanding flexo, and swap real-world experiences on what helps learners connect the dots—without requiring heavy prep or formal presentations.

Clarifications on 2027 Expiration of RoHS UV Mercury Vapor Lamp Exemption

Virtual Event | 2:00 pm EST | Non-Member: $99 | Member: Free

UV curing is an environmentally friendly processing tool that allows converters to instantly set inks, coatings, and adhesives that have been applied to a web without the aid of solvent or water-based carriers. UV lamp heads are installed across web widths ranging from 15 cm (6 inches) to 2.5 meters (98 inches) and greater. Every day, UV technology is used to cure primers; graphics and text; silicone release coatings; UV acrylic hotmelt; syrup adhesives; protective, tactile, and decorative varnishes; and other functional coatings.   As a result, OEMs and end users are very concerned about the pending expiration of the RoHS exemption that allows manufacture, importation, exportation, shipping, and use of UV curing lamps for EU countries until February 24, 2027.  Will the exemption be renewed? What is the process, and what does this mean for the converting industry? This presentation will arm you with the information needed to confidently respond to customers and management when asked about the regulatory status of UV curing lamps in the EU and the potential impact on users outside the EU.
