FIRST Friday #12: Rethinking Anilox Inventory Optimization for Printers

Virtual Event | Non-Member: Free | Member: Free

In this recorded FIRST Friday episode, FTA revisits Brent Zurcher’s 2025 FTA Technical Conference presentation, “Rethinking Anilox Inventory Optimization for Printers.” Brent will walk through key findings on how printers can move beyond assumptions about anilox volume, wear, and inventory management by using real measurement data, stronger supplier collaboration, and a more intentional approach to process ownership. The episode will highlight what the data reveals about new and used anilox rolls, why cell shape matters to ink release, and what practical steps printers can take to improve predictability, consistency, and press performance.

How Flexographic Printers Can Build Custom AI Solutions While Boosting Adoption

Virtual Event | 11:00 am EST | Non-Member: $99 | Member: Free

Many flexographic printers adopt expensive AI software that promises optimization but fails to fit real pressroom workflows. These black box tools often go underused, driving subscription fatigue and weak ROI, while operators and supervisors resist systems that feel imposed on them. In this session, Dr. Gleb Tsipursky, CEO of Disaster Avoidance Experts and author of the forthcoming book The Psychology of AI Adoptionat Work, explains how flexographic companies can stop renting generic AI and start building practical, in-house solutions. Using no-code and low-code platforms, existing staff can create AI tools tailored to scheduling, waste reduction, quality consistency, and maintenance. If your team can learn Excel, they can learn these skills. You will leave with a clear roadmap to replace costly vendor contracts with custom AI built by your own people, while reducing AI anxiety and increasing adoption across the shop floor.

Recognition Practices That Actually Work

Virtual Event | 11:00 am EST | Non-Member: $99 | Member: Free

Employee recognition is more than a “thank you” or an annual award—it is a powerful tool for retaining talent, strengthening workplace culture and helping employees feel seen for the value they bring every day.
In this webinar, the Flexographic Technical Association will explore practical, meaningful ways companies can recognize employee achievements and create a culture where people feel appreciated, motivated and connected. Attendees will learn how recognition can support retention, improve morale and reinforce the behaviors that drive team and business success.
The discussion will highlight modern approaches to recognition, including peer-to-peer appreciation, milestone celebrations, skills-based recognition, personalized rewards and leadership practices that make acknowledgment more consistent and impactful. Participants will leave with actionable ideas they can apply in their own organizations to better support, engage and retain their teams.
