
FTA Salutes 50+ Year Members
BOHEMIA, NY—Thirty-four members of the Flexographic Technical Association have long-storied histories, having been listed on the membership roster for 50+ years.
Seven are counted among charter members, since their affiliation dates back to 1958. They are: ABX Innovative Packaging Solutions, BW Converting, Cello-Wrap Packaging, Flint Group, Printpak Inc, Sun Chemical Corp and tc Transcontinental.
Adding their respective names to FTA’s roster over the course of it’s first year (1959) were: Graymills Corp, Rochester Institute of Technology, and St Johns Packaging.
Records indicate that nine members can trace enrollment to the years 1960-1969. They are: Amcor, 1960; Anderson & Vreeland Inc, 1961; E.C. Shaw, Co, , 1961; Kimberly-Clark Corp, 1962; Superpac Inc, 1965; University of Wisconsin-Stout, 1967; Wikoff Color Corp, 1968; Cyber Graphics, 1969; and Williamson Printing Materials Ltd, 1969.
Similarly, 15 additional member locations are credited with enrolling in the 1970s. They list out as: California Polytechnic State University, 1970; Clemson University, 1970; Mark/Trece Inc, 1971; 3M Co, 1972; The European Flexographic Industry Association, 1972; International Paper, 1972; OEC Graphics, 1972; Tapecon Inc, 1972; and Western Michigan University, 1972.
Additionaly, Allison Systems Corp, came aboard in 1973; as did Harper Corporation of America, RR Donnelley and XSYS. Sonoco Hickory Inc dates to 1974; and Admiral Packaging Inc, to 1975.
FTA salutes these 50+ year members and their dedication to advancing the reach, influence and respect of flexographic printing. Each one has played a huge role in transitioning package print production from art to science.
