HENDERSON, NV—The Flexographic Technical Association’s (FTA) annual Fall Technical Conference with INFOFLEX, held from Oct. 7-9 at The M Resort Spa & Casino, brought together almost 250 professionals from across the package printing and converting industry.
Under the expert guidance of Dr. John Anderson, Miraclon, who served as the association’s volunteer and guided the content development for the annual Fall Conference, participants were treated to a series of technical sessions covering advancements in LED technology, color management, and sustainability.
A highlight was the panel on “Brand Owners Do’s and Don’ts for Flexo Growth,” featuring insights from leaders at Just Born, Inc., Hormel Foods, and Mother Parkers Tea and Coffee.
In Anderson’s opening address, he said, “Talk, engage, learn–take the next step. Do more and more printing by the numbers. That’s what helps flexo make more money and be more attractive to the brands global. …FTA is a family. Everybody has the same interests. Make the most of the knowledge in this room. It’s truly amazing.”
INFOFLEX was filled with groundbreaking solutions, including Eaglewood Technologies’ solvent-free Nanovis cleaning system and Fujifilm’s UV-LED curing technology, underscoring the event’s focus on innovation.
A significant moment was the posthumous induction of Señor Luis Novaro into the FTA Hall of Fame. Novaro, former president of Distribuidora Gráfica Novaro, was honored for his contributions and volunteer spirit that spanned three decades. His grandson, Jose Ignacio Moreno Novaro, accepted the award on his behalf.
Keynote Speaker Adam Peek delivered a dynamic talk on Selling Sustainability. In his presentation, he noted, “Selling is one of the most noble professions in the world. My Dad told me, ‘Nothing starts until somebody sells something.’ Cylinders don’t start turning. Ink does not get mixed. Plates don’t get made.” Adam is host of “People of Packaging Podcast” and SVP sales at Meyers.
“The 2024 Fall Technical Conference exemplified FTA’s dedication to educating the industry and fostering a strong sense of community,” said FTA President Nathan Ridnouer.
Looking ahead, FTA’s FORUM & INFOFLEX will “Bridge the Gap” in Pittsburgh, PA, from May 4-7, 2025. The 2025 Fall Technical Conference with INFOFLEX will be held Sept 21-23 in Orlando, FL.
