INFO*FLEX Bests All Previous Records

BOHEMIInfoFlex2014_32yrswtagA, NY – May 7, 2014 – Flexographic Technical Association’s (FTA) INFO*FLEX Exhibition, themed “A Gold Mine of Solutions” proved to be the networking capital of the industry when a record shattering 1,800 plus attendees converged in Baltimore, MD last week for the two-day event. The show took place April 28 & 29 at the Baltimore Convention Center in the city’s famous Inner Harbor District, where printers/converters, print buyers, designers and their supplier partners strolled the 10 aisles and browsed the hundreds of solutions showcased in the 260 exhibitor booths. The two-day event was heralded by attendees and exhibitors alike as “the best INFO*FLEX ever.”

In addition to the exhibit spaces, the intensive networking and the product comparisons, the sprawling show floor also featured a Solutions Theater that drew capacity crowds at each of its eight 15-minute presentations. There, attendees absorbed best practices on topics ranging from digital printing to high resolution imaging to inks, plates and new press technologies.

Also located on the show floor was the Awards Gallery, which saw a steady stream of delegates who studied and scrutinized the printed pieces that garnered gold, silver, bronze and best of show awards from the 2014 Excellence in Flexography Awards Competition, the industry’s most prestigious awards program.

The constant networking spilled over into a two-hour social event that took place on the rooftop of the convention center, where the overcast skies and occasional rain did nothing to detract from the jovial atmosphere. Attendees found themselves able to network in a more casual environment as they enjoyed plentiful drinks, hors d’oeuvres, guest entertainers, prizes and musical accompaniment from the Delaware-based band, Runnin’ Late, with FTA Hall of Fame member Mark Samworth on bass.

“We are positively thrilled with the turnout,” said Jay Kaible, FTA’s director of membership & business development. “We have seen INFO*FLEX grow more than 30 percent in both exhibitors and attendees in just 4 years. This year’s event solidified INFO*FLEX’s importance to the marketplace. For those two days in April, INFO*FLEX was the heartbeat of the package printing and converting industry.”

Echoing that sentiment were comments heard on the show floor:

“Enormous crowds that are getting bigger every year.”
“Sensational show —best ever!”
“Heavy traffic, non-stop networking.”

Attendee Josh Burke, C-P Flexible Packaging, remarked, “INFO*FLEX provides superb opportunities to find solutions to workflow and production challenges. The interaction with suppliers and manufacturers offers a unique occasion to network, second to none.”

Additional records were shattered for INFO*FLEX 2015 re-sign, which now boasts a 70 percent occupied exhibit floor with 185 exhibit spaces already reserved for the May 4-5 event, to be held at the new Music City Convention Center located in the heart of downtown Nashville, TN.
