FTA to Feature “The Great Anilox Roll Debate” at its 2016 Fall Conference

Fall Conference 2015BOHEMIA, NY – July 28, 2016 – Flexographic Technical Association’s 2016 Fall Conference aims to make flexographers better today, and better prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. Themed “Improving Today…Envisioning Tomorrow,” the conference will conclude with a lively debate among today’s leading anilox roll manufacturers in a session titled, “The Great Anilox Roll Debate.”

“At the heart of any flexographic printing process is the anilox roll. As such, it’s vital to understand the various cell geometries and how these designs affect ink transfer, print quality and consistency,” said co chair Eric Frank, KBA-Flexotecnica. “This session, coupled with an audience Q&A, will educate attendees so they return home with meaningful knowledge they can implement immediately.”

The 90-minute session will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 10:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Each debater will discuss why certain technical parameters are designed to achieve a variety of results relative to cell structure, depth and design.

The following experts will participate:

  • Bill Bessett, Territory Business Manager, ARC International
  • Nick Harvey, Technical Director Global Applications, Apex International
  • Bill Poulson, HGS Technical Graphics Advisor, Harper Corporation of America
  • David Skellie, President, Interflex Laser Engravers
  • Shane Weber, Technical Sales Representative, Bingham Flexo Services

Additionally, every audience member will receive a complimentary copy of the FTA’s Anilox Handling & Care booklet so they can improve their own understanding of what is a very critical fundamental element of flexography.

Attendees will also have a number of opportunities to explore a dedicated exhibitor gallery of 65 companies, including those featured in the debate, and their latest services and technologies designed to improve today’s print operations.

FTA’s Fall Conference will take place Oct. 10-12 at The Galt House Hotel, a legendary destination among hotels in downtown Louisville, KY. Serving as chairs are Eric Frank, KBA-Flexotecnica and Sean Teufler, Siegwerk. Those registering on or before Sept. 9 will save $100.
