FTA Accepting Entries for Newly Revised Sustainability Excellence Awards

Environmental Excellence Awards Evolve: Focus on Planet Expands to People & Profits

Sept. 20, 2013—Flexographic Technical Association (FTA), the world’s leading professional society dedicated to promoting and advancing the flexographic print process, is pleased to announce it is accepting entries for the 2014 Sustainability Excellence Awards competition. Formerly known as the Environmental Excellence Award, this revised competition now encompasses all three pillars of sustainability—people, planet and profit. The deadline for entry submission is Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013.

Since 2000, FTA has been recognizing companies for pioneering efforts in developing innovative processes, products and management approaches that have had a positive impact on the environment. Taking that one step further, the new award criteria will evaluate entries on the implications for people and profits.

Entries will be judged in two categories:

  • Sustainability Programs
  • Innovations in Sustainability

The Sustainability Excellence Award program is open to any stakeholder in the flexographic printing supply chain, whether an FTA member or not. This includes printers, suppliers, designers, prepress providers, educational facilities and print buyers.
