Call for Entries Open for 2014 FTA Technical Innovation Awards

2014_Technical_cvrDec. 3, 2013—Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) today announced that entries for its 2014 Technical Innovation Awards will be accepted now through Feb. 7, 2014. The winners will be announced April 27 at the FTA Annual Banquet held in conjunction with the Association’s 2014 Annual Forum in Baltimore, MD.

The 2014 Technical Innovation Awards program is open to all companies, regardless of FTA membership status. Products entered must be specific to the flexographic printing industry and must be beyond beta testing and commercially available.

The FTA Technical Innovation Awards are unique—and highly valued—because they honor not just technical ingenuity but the way that the technology is used in the real world, bringing tangible creative and commercial benefits to the industry as a whole. Oftentimes they celebrate the partnership between one or more technology partners working together to create an innovation that truly makes a difference in advancing the flexographic printing process. Certainly that will involve innovative and cutting edge technology, but it will also involve collaboration: working together to achieve the best possible outcome.

Entries are judged by FTA member professionals and placed in one of the following three categories: Prepress-Graphics, Prepress-Pressroom and Heavy Converting Equipment. Each entry is then scored in six specific areas:

  • Technical Achievement
  • Technical Impact on The Industry’s Future
  • Description of Technology
  • Supporting Material Required
  • User Testimonials
  • Presentation of Submission
