Fusion Flexo Acquires Hughes Integrated

PLAINWELL, MI—Fusion Flexo, LLC announced today that it has acquired Hughes Integrated, Inc. The acquisition creates one of the premier flexographic printing plate manufacturers in the Midwest. Rob Hughes, president of Hughes IntegratFusion Flexo logoed, will be retiring from the businesswith the change in ownership. Fusion Flexo will continue to be located in Plainwell, MI allowing for same day delivery to the Kalamazoo, MI and Grand Rapids, MI markets.

Company officials plan to retain all employees to provide a seamless transition for its current customers. Fusion Flexo President and CEO Brian Anderson said, “I am proud to lead the team at Fusion Flexo into the future. A strong foundation was established at Hughes Integrated and we wish Rob success and happiness in his retirement. I look forward to expanding the footprint of our business at Fusion Flexo while at the same time exceeding our current customer’s expectations.” Fusion Flexo’s product offerings will include digital and analog photopolymer printing plates, rubber printing plates, engravings, dies and matte film, as well as full prepress services and consulting.

Fusion Flexo was founded by Brian Anderson in early 2014. He was the past director of finance at Hughes Integrated and brings many years of financial experience to the Fusion team. Fusion Flexo offers multiple plate materials from Kodak, Flint Group, DuPont, MacDermid and Asahi. Other products will include engravings, dies, rubber printing plates, matte film, color managed proofs, prepress services and consulting. The company is expecting rapid growth after the Hughes Integrated acquisition by expanding its current customer base and venturing into new markets.

Hughes Engraving was founded in 1950 by Garland Hughes in Grand Rapids, MI. The company originally serviced the advertising, printing and news industries.
