Durst Sells Rho P10 250 HS to Helios Digital Packaging

HOUSTON, TX—Helios Digital Packaging, founded in 2016 as a custom packaging and display print provider, acquired the Durst Rho P10 250 HS as the focal point of its printing operations. Helios Digital Packaging serves customers in need of high quality short and medium run corrugate packaging and display output.

The founders, Eric and Nancy Malloy, bring an extensive background in the packaging industry as part of the only recognized corrugator in the city of Houston in 2008 with father Terry Malloy. Eric says Helios embraces the digital printing application as the future for the corrugate and display industry. Helios will deliver outstanding quality with true and vivid color—due in large part to the capabilities of the Durst Rho P10 250 HS, optimized for corrugate handling and printing.

“We had been in the market for digital printers,” said Eric. “Finding the right printer was essential. We ‘kicked all the tires’ and compared all the printer manufactures with our products and files. What ultimately sealed it for us was the Rho P10 250 HS samples were printed in real world production, providing more clarity with smaller images that were more detailed, crisp and precise.”

“The Rho P10 250 HS offers the reliability, efficiency and accuracy we require,” said Nancy. “In the end, when I compared all the sample prints side by side, the Durst just wowed me.”

The Rho P10 250 HS is a production UV inkjet flatbed digital printer that handles a range of rigid media and substrates, but is especially well suited for corrugate printing. The 98-in. wide printer is an ideal choice for corrugated converters and POP display specialists—delivering outstanding image quality, efficiency and productivity. Its versatility and easy setup allows for customization and personalization that leads to new business opportunities and helps bring print providers into the digital future.

“We’re especially pleased to be working with Helios Digital—a new company run by experienced business people with the imagination and drive to seize the opportunities production digital printing presents—and to have our Rho P10 250 HS, serves as the anchor of their business,” said Larry D’Amico, director of sales and marketing for Durst U.S. “Eric and Nancy are now able to offer their customers leading and creative solutions, and we look forward to working closely with them to help ensure their success.”

“In Durst, we found a printer that provides versatility, print at a high speed with economical inks allows us to do more for our customers and turn projects around faster,” said Eric. “They have really invested in wide format printing and we felt that was the match for us, the prefect match.”
