Zol Plastic’s Converting Solutions Tour de México A Success

MÉXICO CITY, Mexico—Zol Plastic S.A. de C.V. reports the successful conclusion of its much anticipated 2014 Converting Solutions seminar series during July. According to Javier Zenil, managing director of Zol Plastic, “Record attendance was recorded at each of the day long seminars held in México City, Monterrey and Guadalajara. Flexographic and rotogravure printers, coaters, laminators and extruders came to learn about new process improving technologies that lower waste, improve quality and productivity, all with a focus on how to gain a competitive advantage.”

According to Zenil, presenters included:

  • Juan Bermudez with Harper Corporation of America, who discussed how anilox specifications impact color consistency, print quality and customer satisfaction
  • Efrain Martinez, with Flxon Inc., discussed new high performance HD doctor blades developed to reduce dot gain, back doctoring and anilox damage
  • Kay Avila with Natural Inks focused on managing inks by key numeric performance tools to gain efficiencies
  • Kevin McKell with Vetaphone discussed the importance of corona and plasma treatments to prepare various webs for optimum ink adhesion
  • John Cusack with QuadTech discussed how true 100 percent defect detection can lower waste while improving both quality and productivity
  • Mauricio Cobian with Bobst discussed his firms focus on press uptime by reducing job change downtime to just minutes to achieve maximum productivity

The seminar’s workshop format allowed for lively discussion of real pressroom challenges and concrete solutions. Participants rated each event very highly.
