Phoenix Challenge Foundation Announces 2018 High School Competition Dates

CHARLOTTE, NC—The Phoenix Challenge Foundation announces the 21st annual Phoenix Challenge High School Skills Competition, an event that continues to build and breed talent and interest in graphic arts and flexographic print production. This year’s program will be held at Central Piedmont Community College April 11-13, at the Harper National Flexographic Campus in Charlotte, NC.

The competition brings 30-40 students from across North America, who show their knowledge and are evaluated in proving their skills in a team setting showcasing the various disciplines from prepress, plate making and mounting to mathematics and written skills, to print setup and press operation. After two and half days of skills, challenges and pressroom judging, students are awarded and winners receive recognition to continue their pursuit of careers in label and package printing.

Prizes are awarded by earning the highest combined scores in the competition. Along with the First Place award the team will each receive a $1,000 Phoenix Challenge Foundation Scholarship, and they will take home the Harper Flexo High School of the Year trophy cup, for display at the school.
