Peter Giannandrea, Lifelong Flexographer & FTA Volunteer, Dead at 66

Peter Giannandrea ObituaryPeter Giannandrea, a dedicated servant to the flexographic community who spent several decades employed in its ranks, died Dec. 5. He was 66.

A diligent supporter of FTA’s endeavors, Peter was a judge at numerous Excellence in Flexography Awards competitions, in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2001. In a 2002 edition of FLEXO Magazine, he summed up his perspective on the industry’s current and future state by saying, “The good news is, flexography has advanced tremendously over the past few years, virtually closing the gap between it and other print processes. The better news is, with the introduction of computer to plate, our industry will continue to improve.”

Peter worked at W.R. Grace (Cryovac), Winpak, Stone Container, Somerville Packaging and Pamarco Global Graphics during his career.

A service will take place from 1-4 p.m. on Dec. 18 at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Homes in Ontario.
