Omet Demonstrates Benefits of XFlex X6 JetPlus at Lecco Open House

Omet XFlex X6 JetPlusLECCO, Italy—On April 14, Omet organized the event “When digital meets flexo” to discuss the evolution of the printing and labeling market and understand its current needs and future directions.

Starting from general market considerations, the discussion went on with Omet’s vision of providing an effective tool that will meet the new needs of label printers. That too is the new XFlex X6 JetPlus.

From the collaboration between Omet and Domino Digital comes the new hybrid solution that combines in one single machine all the advantages of digital technology and flexo printing.

The event attracted a lot of interest thanks to the quality of the speakers and the XFlex X6 JetPlus live demo: a fast paced, content rich format that condensed a lot of information in a few hours, and showed the great potential of the new flexo and digital hybrid printing technology.

Thanks to Mauro Tironi’s contribution (4it Group, graphic arts market analyst), the evolution of the printing market was presented in detailed and objective manner, providing very interesting data that showed the continuous growth of the labeling industry, expected to last for the next five years as well, with strong and growing interest in hybrid technology. The two following presentations by Marco Calcagni (Omet sales manager) and Arnold Van Oudheusden (Domino Digital) described the potential applications and opportunities of the XFlex X6 JetPlus flexo and digital hybrid printing technology and the economic advantages for label printers.

Omet XFlex Lecco open houseThe XFlex X6 JetPlus demonstration put words into actions by showing its incredible flexibility through three different jobs. First of all, a complex hybrid process with flexo, digital and foil application, adhesive lamination and inline die cutting, followed by a complete job changeover and a simulation of a normal production situation with a high speed 4-color flexo printing job. Finally, in less than a minute, it moved on to new labels printed only in digital with preset continuous change of the subject without intervening on the machine.

The demonstration amazed the attendees with the versatility, flexibility and printing quality of the XFlex X6 JetPlus, which can combine different printing and converting technologies on several substrates, changing jobs in an extremely fast and functional manner.

During the tour of Omet’s production department, event participants had the opportunity to see the testing of the new Varyflex V2 Offset 850, which is being prepared for drupa 2016.
