MPS Systems Breaks Sales Record at Labelexpo Americas 2018

Live demonstration of the hybrid EF SYMJET press

GREEN BAY, WIMPS celebrated a new record of show sales at this year’s Labelexpo Americas. A hybrid EF SYMJET press on stand with daily live demonstrations, as well as the EF multi-substrate flexo press at the debut Automation Arena, attracted lots of visitors and interest.

Glasses of champagne were raised five times on the MPS booth during the recent edition of Labelexpo Americas, celebrating show sales. Sold were four hybrid EF SYMJET presses, the MPS hybrid solution developed in cooperation with Domino. MPS also celebrated a sale of their flagship EF multi-substrate flexo press.

The debut of Automation Arena, a Labelexpo Americas feature organized by Tarsus, drew crowds to witness a completely automated print shop. A 45-minute live presentation featured two automated press lines for digital (label) and conventional (shrink sleeve) label production, from job creation through to prepress, printing, finishing and invoicing.

The shrink sleeve portion of the conventional automated press line was printed on an MPS EF flexo press with 100 percent print automation on each print deck (for both sleeves as well as anilox positioning), and the MPS “talk to me” connectivity platform showcasing an automated flexo solution that is ready for Industry 4.0 implementation.

The hybrid flexo-inkjet EF SYMJET press demonstrated on the MPS stand during Labelexpo combines the MPS EF flexo platform with an integrated Domino N610i inkjet engine, allowing converters to combine flexo and digital printing as well as converting, all in one pass.

Tim Fox, president of MPS Systems North America, commented: “This year’s Labelexpo Americas surpassed all our expectations. We knew hybrid printing was a hot topic that show visitors were keen to see, but selling four of our EF SYMJET hybrid presses at the show proved the industry is eager to adopt this technology as the future, combining the best of both worlds in digital and flexo label printing.”
