MPS Develops Training Courses for Operators & Engineers

ARNHEM, The NetherlandsMPS has developed new training courses exclusively for operators and engineers. They were developed to improve flexo operating skills, share current developments in the printing industry and increase press productivity. The three-day programs for operators and five-day programs for engineers will be held at the MPS Technology & Expertise Centre in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

Marc-Jan Goossink, manager after sales, commented: “Ongoing training and education of operators and engineers is a crucial contribution to a printer’s financial goals, but more importantly it increases their motivation and dedication. In an era where it’s difficult to find and retain technically trained personnel, that’s highly valuable.”

The training courses are designed to help operators and engineers with hands-on training combined with practical knowledge. Leopold der Nederlanden, who is leading the training programs, commented: “Our headquarters offers an interactive learning environment where operators and engineers can focus 100 percent on training, and we can simulate an actual production setting including pre-programed machine faults to help with troubleshooting and preventing press downtime.”

The courses consist of four themes:

  • Basic setup functions of the press
  • Machine operation (such as register, die cutting, ink drying, corona treatment, web cleaner, laminating, cold foil and more)
  • Press maintenance
  • Troubleshooting

Press schematics and advanced troubleshooting with an MPS technical engineer are part of the engineer training. Upon successful completion of the course, all participants are awarded an official industry-recognized MPS certification.

Goossink concluded: “Our in-depth training courses provide a valuable opportunity to help operators and engineers advance their skills and knowledge to a higher level. I am excited about these programs, and look forward to welcoming participants to Arnhem.”

Initial training sessions offered in September and November are now open for registration, with limited group sizes. Details about the programs, dates, costs and how to register are available via the links below:
