Lauterbach Group Receives TLMI Environmental Leadership Award

Lauterbach Group TLMISUSSEX, WIThe Lauterbach Group, located in Sussex, WI, was awarded the prestigious 2015 TLMI Environmental Leadership Award for its ongoing commitment to progressive environmental practices made possible by laser like focus on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.

The TLMI Environmental Leadership Award is truly one of a kind. Given conditionally based on applicants, it is not an annual award. The judges may offer the Environmental Leadership Award to two companies per year but only when compelled by an organization’s efforts. This year, while Dow Chemical Company and Yerecic Label received certificates of achievement, the Lauterbach Group was the sole recipient of the prestigious award.

“This company is lean and mean,” said TLMI Environmental Chair Calvin Frost. “They are L.I.F.E., FSC, SFI, LEED, Green Tier and Green Master Certified. Their entire operation and culture embraces what the judges require for an Environmental Leadership Award.”

Paving the way for this accomplishment, The Lauterbach Group focused on contributions towards environmental awareness within the community and on internal career development, promoting company and individual growth as well as advancement through internship opportunities and job trainings. In part with role development, the organization’s emphasis on health and wellness factored into the judge’s final decision, and in selecting only one winner for the 2015 award.

“The efforts of our entire group go far beyond being ‘green,’” said President and CEO Shane Lauterbach. “We take great pride in the fact that our group provides an atmosphere where members can actively participate in change initiatives, community events, and professional growth opportunities by way of education, on the job training and career building.”

“I know our leadership team is not one to take credit, but give credit where credit is due,” said Dolores Corcoran, productivity system manager. “Our leadership really drives world class thinking through governing policies, ethics, goals, objectives and Kaizen philosophy. Transparency is no longer a noun; it is an action word to monitor our business systems.”

The Lauterbach Group has consistently pulverized environmentally vulnerable touchpoints through a commitment to exceptional environmental practices and continuous improvement practices across a range of areas including solid waste reduction, recycling, waste or energy recovery, the implementation of new ‘clean’ technology and processes, as well as the implementation of an education program. In addition the Lauterbach Group exceeds world class excellence by implementing systems, verified through ongoing third party audits, geared towards environmental excellence.
