Inteplast Announces New Facility in Morristown, TN

LIVINGSTON, NJ—A new 15,000 sq. ft. facility for Inteplast in Morristown, TN is now undergoing construction and will house a high speed, 10.83-ft. metallizer for Inteplast Group’s AmTopp division, which specializes in OPP (oriented polypropylene) films.

With construction of the facility underway, its completion is estimated December 2016 and the advanced metallizer will begin production first quarter of 2017.

AmTopp President Homer Hsieh says, “We are in business to serve our customers and support their growth. This addition will increase the total number of OPP metallizers we operate in North America to four, and allow us to continue to expand in this strategic market segment.”

The Morristown facility will meet AmTopp’s growing customer demands, says Jim Ashmore, vice president of OPP sales. “This progress shows our ongoing commitment to driving technology. It comes on the heels of our recent investment in a second 28.54-ft. OPP line in our Gray Court, SC facility, scheduled to begin production later in the year.”

Aside from its Gray Court and soon to be completed Morristown plants, AmTopp, a leading manufacturer of OPP in North America, also operates plants in Lolita, TX, and Lanoraie, Quebec.

In 2015 Inteplast Group placed second on Plastics News’ ranking in North America for film and sheets sales, and first for highest increase of sales from 2014 to 2015. Results for this year have not yet been published.
