hubergroup Announces Management Changes

KIRCHHEIM, Germany—Ursula Borgmann, who chaired the hubergroup Management  Board and headed the technology division, handed over her responsibilities to her successors at the beginning of 2018 after more than 30 years in a leadership position. In 2018 she will be available in an advisory capacity before retiring. As a result, there will be changes in the group’s management structure.

Heiner Klokkers took over as chairman of the Management Board on Jan. 1. His core task will be the strategic development of the company into new markets or new segments within and outside the printing ink industry.

“Heiner Klokkers knows the strengths of hubergroup and the market for printing inks like no one else,” says Klaus Greger, chairman of the Advisory Board of the printing ink manufacturer. “The owners and the Advisory Board therefore place their trust in him to strategically position the hubergroup as a long-term oriented family-owned company for the next decade and to design the necessary measures to meet future challenges.”

Taner Bicer, who has been in charge of technology management for UV inks and coatings at hubergroup since 2014, was appointed to the Management Board of MHM Holding GmbH, effective from Jan. 1, and will take over the technology division within the group. Taner Bicer is a chemical engineer with 17 years of experience in the coatings and ink industry.

“Taner Bicer is an experienced manager who takes over the technological leadership of the group,” as Ursula Borgmann describes her successor. “He has a broad knowledge of chemistry and a comprehensive understanding of basic chemical development, ink formulation, production and application, which he has demonstrated with great success in recent years.”

Dr. Dirk Aulbert, who has been working for hubergroup since April 2017, is now responsible for Heiner Klokkers’ previous position as head of the Regional Business Unit (RBU) Europe. He holds a doctorate in chemistry and has held various management positions in the printing ink industry for more than 20 years, moving from Flint Group to hubergroup.

“We are pleased to have gained in Dirk Aulbert an experienced manager for the RBU Europe. With his market knowledge and management experience, he is the guarantor for strengthening our business in Europe and positioning it sustainably in the strategically important target segments for us,” continues Greger.

In addition to leading RBU North America, Derek McFarland will also take over responsibility for business in South America from Heiner Klokkers during the first quarter of 2018 and will then lead the entire RBU Americas.

Ashwani Bhardwaj, head of RBU Asia/Pacific, and Michael Geiger, chief financial officer of hubergroup, will continue their current responsibilities as members of the Management Board.
