Flint Group Opens 10th Annual Narrow Web Print Awards

Flint Group logoCHICAGO, IL—Flint Group has officially opened the 10th annual Narrow Web Print Awards competition with its call for entries. Label converters from around the globe are encouraged to submit sample labels of their choosing for evaluation by a panel of industry judges.

The winners of this prestigious award will be announced during a live event at Stand 840 at Labelexpo Americas in Chicago on Wednesday, Sept. 10. Flint Group will unveil the names of those printers whose submissions exemplify excellence and entrepreneurship in this wide world of narrow web printing.

In 2014, Flint Group will highlight a special category introduced for web packaging applications. We encourage printers to demonstrate the enriched pallet of applications that are possible using narrow/mid web presses.

Flint Group has received hundreds of submissions every year since the first competition in 2005; presenting this prestigious award to more than 55 companies globally. In 2013, Flint Group presented awards in 10 different categories at Labelexpo Brussels—all submissions using inks, coatings and specialty products that were supplied by Flint.

“We truly see the best of the best in narrow web printing each year—we’re continually amazed by the excellence, quality, and depth of design,” said Deanna Whelan, global marketing manager at Flint Group Packaging and Narrow Web. “This proves that narrow web printing is truly an art and we’re proud to be part of these masterpiece designs.”

Commenting on the awards, Niklas Olsson, narrow web global brand manager for Flint Group, said, “We are tremendously pleased and honored to receive so many print sample submissions year after year; this proves that the Narrow Web Print Awards is held in serious and respected regard by our customers around the world. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are extremely proud, as an ink supplier, to host this friendly competition honoring our clients’ creative and outstanding work.”

Criteria for judging includes: registration, smoothness of dot/vignette, overall print quality, and degree of difficulty. Entries will be placed in categories relating to technology and application. Award winners will be announced at the Flint Group booth at Labelexpo Americas on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Stand #840.
