New Product Highlights

With the added feature of expanded color gamut management, CGS offers a complete suite of profiling tools designed specifically with the packaging market in mind. ORIS Press Matcher // Web creates high-quality expanded gamut profiles optimized for rendering RGB and CMYK + 4 separations to make full use of a press’s entire gamut, achieving high-quality, vivid and saturated colors, while maintaining accurate spot color recreation.

“Multichannel spot color optimization is a great new feature. Now, users can convert multiple spot colors in a print file, into their own custom characterized expanded gamut space. This gives our customers the opportunity to leverage their full gamut to best reproduce spot colors in up to an eight-channel output environment,” explains Cory Sawatzki, director of digital print technology at CGS.

Before, it could be challenging and time consuming to achieve accurate and repeatable color reproduction limited to the CMYK gamut of digital presses. Now, with expanded gamut, users can manage color on the latest expanded gamut digital presses and standardize up to eight separations (CMYK + 4). This makes it possible to match spot colors without having to change ink sets on traditional presses or to easily create best in class expanded gamut separations to leverage on digital presses, ultimately saving CGS customers time and money. What’s more, it gives users even more opportunities to gang jobs, so productivity has the potential to sky-rocket.
