INFOFLEX 2019: Analog, Digital, Hybrid Technologies Target Label, Carton Corrugated & All Needs
Latest data compiled by FLEXO and included in SourceBook 2019 indicates that of approximately 500 printer member plants, 70 percent are single-location operators and 30 percent involve multiple sites. By application:
- 40 percent of FTA’s printer members produce labels
- 12 percent print and convert folding cartons
- 8 percent are corrugated printers
- 6 percent convert envelopes
- 4 percent specialize in preprinted linerboard
- 4 percent provide printed release liners
- 4 percent make cards and giftwrap
- 3 percent produce non-wovens
- 3 percent handle towel, tissue and napkins
Of those, nearly 50 percent engage in multiprocess print and some 30 percent have expanded into inline converting and finishing.

At INFOFLEX 2019, like 2018, 2017 and many other renditions of the show, history will repeat itself. Expectations are:
- 95 percent of exhibitors—240 manufacturers, distributors and premedia service providers—support label printers and inline converting
- 66 percent service corrugated print enterprises
- 66 percent offer product lines dedicated to folding carton endeavors
Max Soliday, Hoosier Container, states, “The educational focus and vendor interaction make this a must-attend for anyone who makes a living in the flexographic marketplace. FTA sets itself apart from all the rest, year after year! I recall my first time ever to attend a show like this and it was overwhelming—lots of vendors and new technology.”
Dave Straten, Advance Packaging, holds, “It’s like a class reunion, where I get my entire vendor team together in person.” Another printer, Shane Smith, TC Transcontinental Packaging/Capri, declares, “It’s by far a great way for networking and seeing new and up-and-coming technologies. I meet a lot of very knowledgeable people that I utilize as sources to help benefit my plant.”
Scott Gilbert, WestRock, a long-time attendee, puts forth a simple statement. “Back with a new company… INFOFLEX still brings value to me. Always worth coming!”
Even among exhibitors, first-timers and seasoned veterans stand side by side—everywhere on the INFOFLEX floor.
Gary Gunter of Kodak explains, “I’m really blown away by the organization and overall delivery [and] quality of INFOFLEX. Attendees are great! It seems that everyone that plays an important part of our North American industry is here. [It’s] one of the best events I attend! Informative, concise and educational.”
Scott Schultz, Eckart, reports, “We’ve been exhibiting at INFOFLEX for 20 years! It is always valuable to interact amongst peers, customers and new prospects. Great forum for flexo junkies!”
“FTA is very much a worthwhile event for us,” notes Chris Jones, Alphasonics. “INFOFLEX 2019 is our fourth time exhibiting and certainly not our last. I’m excited by all the talk about what it has in store.”
Echoing the resounding assessments, Travis Triplet, Hell Gravure, points out that, “INFOFLEX is definitely the premiere flexo event and a must-see.
