KENOSHA, WI-- Ligum North America LLC has opened its modern manufacturing facility for elastomer covered sleeves to serve the North American market. The facility will focus on elastomer covered sleeves for the constantly expanding laser-ready sleeve demand of the flexographic, gravure and converting industries. “We are pleased to have this state-of-the-art manufacturing process for future growth and development.” said Paul Kaiser, operations manager.
The 20,000 sq. ft. facilityincorporates the latest production and quality-assurance technologies and equipment from around the globe for the precision production of elastomer covered sleeves. A wide variety of elastomer compounds are stocked for the broad applications of flexographic printing. The sleeves can be made with conductive fiberglass bases for anti-static requirements.
Flexographic printing is rapidly growing in popularity because it combines an improved print quality with a greater flexibility in using a wide array of inks and substrates. Sleeve technology also brings acceleration, simplification, and lower costs when replacing a printing form. The ongoing developments in direct laser engraving combined with Ligum’s latest generation of elastomers work together to achieve the highest print quality.
Ligum North America LLC is a joint venture between Ligum spol s.r.o. of Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic and A-Korn Roller, Inc. of Chicago, IL.
